Tuesday 4.16.13 I had the pleasure to present to the NYC WordPress Meetup Group. This was a remote presentation via Google Hangout and the topic was managed WordPress hosting. I haven’t mentioned this on my site yet but for the last seven months I’ve been a Customer Success Engineer working at page.ly and learning all the ins and outs of managed hosting. My presentation included a brief overview of managed hosting, the benefits that come along with it and what you should expect from a managed host provider. I had great time with this presentation and just want to give a big thanks to the organizers for having me. I don’t believe that the presentation is currently available yet but feel free to leave a comment if you’d like more information.
So I was just invited to become an assistant organizer to the Denver WordPress Meetup group. Awesome! I’m pretty new to the group but I love the WordPress community in Denver. I look forward to contributing and spreading WordPress knowledge.
Last week I had the chance to co-host a Denver WordPress Meetup with my friend and co-worker Drew Jaynes.
Our topic was Github and Workflow. The event went pretty well, we had about ten people and covered the importance of versioning your design and development workflow.
I’m excited to announce that they’re having me back to co-host another event Sandboxing WordPress 101. There hasn’t been a date set yet but you can check the link to stay updated. This event will be split into two parts one for beginners covering topics such as creating a sandboxing site for experimenting and development. The second half will be geared towards intermediates were we’ll talk about setting up sandboxes on local, mapping to fake domains, best mapping practices and using sandboxing to develop/design. If you are interested in coming by you can contact me for more info or go to the meetup site directly.
Hope to see you there!
